ODC is considered one of the most active centers for dance on the West Coast. We are unique for our fully integrated arts vision and complex and far-reaching impact. Unlike virtually any other arts organization in the nation, we sustain a world-class dance company, a professional, pre-professional, and recreational dance training program, a nationally regarded presenting venue, a five studio rehearsal and office complex, and a Healthy Dancers’ Clinic. Our mission is to inspire audiences, cultivate artists, engage community, and foster diversity and inclusion through dance.
At ODC we believe the vitality of life in the San Francisco Bay Area is contingent upon continual exposure to a variety of perspectives, beliefs and wisdom. Our core values are:
Quality and Integrity – in the dancers, the staff, the art form and the creative process
Inclusion – of new artistic voices, of the curious visitor, of the unorthodox idea
Respect – for the talent of all artists, the time and goodwill of our audiences, the generosity of our funders, the dedication of staff, board, and volunteers, and the integrity of our local communities
Our work at ODC is challenging and exciting. We attract people who are committed to dance and the arts and we are willing to work hard to engage our audiences and serve our communities. If you want to make a difference, challenge yourself and help us continue to innovate, we welcome your energy and talents.
