We are thrilled to announce the opening of the ODC Theater Inaugural Season October 21-24, 2010. KUNST-STOFF& LEVYdance kick off a dynamic fall performance schedule that features a much-anticipated collaboration between inkBoat and AXIS Dance Company, a weekend of theatrical and avant garde musical performances from the Paul Dresher Ensemble and much more.
Celebrate the completion of a vision 40 years coming. The theater opening culminates a successful two-year, $9 million renovation and expansion campaign that concludes ODC’s extraordinary, decade-long $20 million effort to realize a national center for contemporary dance and performance on the West Coast.
ODC’s two facility, 36,000 square foot campus will now be the largest and most comprehensive dance center in the region. ODC’s newly completed arts campus creates a space for our core values of cultural exchange, programming innovation and community building to come alive. It also takes visible aim at San Francisco’s notorious shortage of rehearsal and performance space in order to better serve a dynamic community of artists, students, and art-goers.
“The opening of ODC Theater and the completion of ODC’s arts campus is a momentous occasion for our organization and for the region,” says ODC Founder & Artistic Director Brenda Way. “It marks the culmination of the efforts of countless supporters who believe in ODC’S mission and who believe in the centrality of the arts to a civilized society. San Francisco will reap the long-terms benefits of our center which will attract and support an ever-growing community of artists and audiences.” |
